The Session

Stop Playing Alone. Start Playing With a Band.

Rock Solid is a weekly drop-in session for young musicians who are ready to stop playing alone and start playing with a band. You show up on Saturday, work through the fundamentals of playing with others, learn a song together, and perform it before you leave. That’s the whole thing. No auditions. No sign-up deadlines. No commitment beyond the week you decide to come.

If you’ve been playing for a while and you’re wondering what it feels like to lock in with a drummer, or hold down a chord while someone else takes a solo, this is where you find out.

$20 per session. The first jam is on us. Come when you can.

Who It's For

This session is built for you if:

You play an instrument but you've only ever played by yourself

You've thought about joining a band but you're not sure if you're ready

The idea of playing with other people sounds cool but also kind of terrifying

You want to try it before you commit to anything

You're somewhere between beginner and confident and you just need to see what it feels like

You don’t need to be experienced. You need to be curious and willing to show up.

How It Works

One Hour. One JAM.

Every Saturday, a small group of young musicians meets at Rock Garage at 12:15 PM. The session runs about an hour.

You arrive and get set up.

Gear is available if you need it. The instructors get everyone dialed in.

You learn the fundamentals of playing together.

Listening to each other. Staying in time. Finding your part. The basics that make a band actually work.

You work through a song.

One song, together, from scratch. Everyone plays their part, and the group figures out how to make it click.

You pLAY it.

At the end of every session, the group plays what they worked on. Every week. No exceptions. Real experience from day one.

You walk out knowing what it feels like to play music with other people. That’s the whole point.

What You'll Learn

The Things That Make a Band Actually Work

Rock Solid is about more than just playing through a song. The instructors focus on the things that actually make a band function.

Listening while you play.

This is the hardest part for most new players, and it’s the most important.

Locking in with a rhythm section.

Whether you’re a drummer keeping time or a guitarist staying inside the groove, you’ll feel the difference immediately.

Playing your part and trusting the group.

A band works when everyone does their job. You’ll learn what your job sounds like.

Performing without overthinking it.

You perform every session. By the third or fourth time you do it, it stops feeling scary.
The Instructors

Real Working Musicians.

Every Rock Solid session is run by real, working musicians. These aren’t just teachers. They play shows. They’ve been in bands. They know what it takes to make music with other people, and they know how to teach it.
They’re not here to critique you. They’re here to help you figure it out.
Drop-In

No Commitment. Just Show Up.

This is a drop-in program. You don’t sign up for a semester. You don’t buy a package. You pay $20 for the week you come and that’s it.

Come every Saturday. Come once a month. Come whenever it works for you. The session runs every week regardless.

If you find yourself wanting more structure, more consistency, and a full band to call yours, the Youth Band Program is the next step. But that’s only when you’re ready.

The Natural Next Step.

Youth Band Program

Rock Solid is the no-commitment way in. If you find your people here and want to take it further, the Youth Band Program is the next step. It puts you in a committed band with players at your level. You pick your songs together, rehearse weekly with a music director, and build toward a real performance on stage. A lot of Youth Band Program groups got their start right here on a Saturday morning.

Private Lessons

If you want to sharpen your individual playing first, private lessons are available too. Work one-on-one with an instructor on your technique, your goals, and the specific things you want to level up. Then bring those gains back to Saturday sessions.
