What You Get

What’s Included in Drum Lessons

01

Online or In-Person Drum Lessons

Take drum lessons the way that fits your life. Rock Garage offers one-on-one lessons in person at our Indianapolis studio or online, with the same instructors and the same quality either way. There is no standard curriculum. Each session is shaped around your goals, your taste in music, and your pace, whether you are sitting behind a kit for the first time or returning after years away. Your drum teacher is matched to your style and schedule so lessons feel like a good fit from the start.

02

Rhythm and Timing

Great drumming starts with solid time. Your drum teacher works with you on rhythm, timing, and coordination, from steady grooves and clean fills to how your hands and feet work together. You learn to count, to stay relaxed, and to keep the beat steady when a song speeds up or gets busy. Beginners build good habits from day one. Advanced players tighten their feel and fill in gaps. The goal is playing other musicians can rely on.
03

Playing Along With Songs

Practice sticks when you are playing music you love. Drum lessons at Rock Garage are built around real songs, so your instructor helps you learn the grooves, fills, and structure of tracks you actually want to play, then has you play along. Learning songs teaches you how drummers support a band, when to hold back, and when to push. It keeps practice fun and gives every lesson a clear, rewarding goal.
04

A Path Into a Band

Lessons are only the start. When you are ready to play with others, Rock Garage can place you in a band matched to your level, with a music director, weekly rehearsals, and real shows at venues across greater Indianapolis. Drummers are what bands need most to lock in, and having a teacher who knows the studio makes the move into a band easier. Many students use drum lessons as a stepping stone to the stage.
